Situated right in the center of Luang Prabang’s UNESCO World Heritage main street , Sun Song Social is a festive social gathering place serving classic cocktails. Like a lantern, our glowing red bar is made by local artisans using Lao traditional Saa paper celebrating the rich art and handcrafted legacy.

The peacock mosaic, created by a master artist and his student in honor of the Tree of Life mosaic at Vat Xieng Thong.

Glass mosaic is a laborious form of art used to create ornate images that often tell stories at some of the most important landmarks in Luang Prabang, including the National Museum and Vat Xieng Thong temple, where visitors can see how graceful shapes and lines are created using hand cut pieces of glass.

About red saa paper bar : Saa paper or mulberry paper is the focal point of Sun Song Social Bar. When looking at the paper mosaic bar backdrop, we can almost see the fingerprints of its makers: cleaning, boiling, crushing, pressing, and drying the tough fibers of the tree bark into delicate thin sheets of paper.

This traditional Lao Saa paper making process is long and intensive, requiring patience, gentleness, and firmness. This glowing red bar is the dedication to the hard working hands of the people of Luang Prabang and their firing passion for their craft.
