Lamphun is the smallest of the Northern provinces. The town's architecture is one of its interesting aspects, specifically buildings mixed with wood. Along the main road, you can find Chinese-style commercial buildings that have transformed and aged over the years; these give the area a certain charm and invite you to discover their origin and place in time. Lamphun has a warmth to it: it is easy to walk around, has good food, and is well-developed, convenient, and comfortable. Just half an hour away from Chiang Mai, Lamphun is easy to travel to and makes for a great day trip.
